In 2008, Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová stunned and moved audiences with their acceptance of the Academy Award for “Falling Slowly,” the theme song to the indie hit film, Once. The Swell Season chronicles what happened next for the couple as their on-screen partnership blurred into their off-screen professional and private lives. This documentary portrait will be presented with a return engagement of Once, a heartfelt tale of a Dublin busker who reconsiders his life when he meets a young Czech immigrant.

Art imitates life imitates art in this case. The indie can't-believe-you-haven't-see-it-what's-wrong-with-you film "Once" brought together frontman Glen Hansard and actress Marketa Irlgova for the first time. They're still together making great music that rocks. The New York Times calls it "A poignant commentary on the uneasy commingling of love and fame… Shot in simmering black and white, the images swaddle the story in retro glamour." Packy's Take: One of the best music doc's we'll show. Our cinema has THX-ceritfied sound, so it'll rock (literally). What more do you want?
