Serving the Power to Do Good
The DeBartolo Performing Arts Center is committed to engaging the University of Notre Dame campus and our local community in the arts. The center's community engagement includes offering free films and performances, live performance pre- and post-talks, filmmaker visits and panel discussions, as well as workshops, master classes and class visits.
How and Where We Make Good Things Happen
An important benefit of the Presenting Series are residencies in the community provided by nationally and internationally touring professional artists. Engagements for South Bend-area children in K–12 are held either at their school, a non-profit community organization or the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. For college students and adults, residencies take place at the center and Saint Mary's College, as well as special events held at community-run venues such as LangLab and The Music Village.
Residencies have been held at Perley Primary Academy, Dickinson Intermediate School, Clay High School, Robinson Community Learning Center, Boys and Girls Club of St. Joseph County, Center for the Homeless and several lecture halls and spaces across Notre Dame's campus.
Watch the Power of Arts in Action
With our new video and photo series on engagement at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, we invite you to see what transformative encounters with truth and beauty bring to the remarkably diverse cross-section that is the center's campus and local community.
