Learning Beyond the Classics
Directed by Alfred Hitchcock
With Teresa Wright, Joseph Cotten, Macdonald Carey
Rated PG, 108 minutes, 35mm

Another rare true story Alfred Hitchcock adapted for film, this time with a script by Thorton Wilder, that Hitchcock would often cite as his favorite of all his films. Sweet Uncle Charlie (Joseph Cotten) visits his relatives in Santa Rosa. He is a very charming man and adored by his niece Charlie (Teresa Wright), but she slowly realizes that her uncle is wanted for murder most foul. Worst still for Little Charlie: Uncle Charlie soon recognizes her suspicions. Eek! Although one of the suspected murderers is killed and the case is considered closed, she still has her doubts about her once-beloved uncle.
