NDSO Promenade Concert: Rediscovered Masterpieces
Friday, October 11, 2024
The Notre Dame Symphony Orchestra opens its 95th season with a performance of beloved masterworks and a newly rediscovered composition. Local musical legend Jennet Ingle joins the orchestra as soloist in a performance of Ruth Gipps' Oboe Concerto. Filling out the program will be Schubert's Unfinished Symphony and Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony, both of which (though standard repertory works today) were unknown and unpublished until after their composers' deaths.
A reception with chamber music performances from symphony members will precede the concert at 7:45 p.m.
