Chloё Agnew, who came to fame as one of the original stars of the supergroup Celtic Woman, is joined by the Atlanta Pops Orchestra for a sensational night of Irish songs, standards, Broadway and movie music, plus fan favorites this March on the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center Presenting Series. The special spring tour of An Irish Heart arrives Saturday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Leighton Concert Hall. Audiences can also anticipate appearances by special guest Irish tenor Dermot Kiernan and a Riverdance alum. This event is made possible by the Hagerty Irish Performer Series.

Working professionally in the entertainment industry since a child, Agnew had recorded and released singles and albums by the time she was just 14. Her star then rose after becoming one of the original, and youngest members of the internationally acclaimed music group Celtic Woman. Their debut album reached #1 on Billboard’s World Music chart, where it held the top position for a record-breaking 81 weeks. To date, Agnew has been featured on a total of 14 of Celtic Woman’s albums. Cumulatively, their albums have sold over 8 million records worldwide and they have performed to over 1 million people live in concert all over the world. Chloë also has had the incredible honor of performing for the U.S. Presidents, Bush, Clinton, and Obama, all before she turned 20. She has performed in concert venues all over the world.

The Atlanta Pops Orchestra, under the baton of Dr. Jason Altieri, conductor and music director, perform throughout the southeast each year at special events, its Community Concert Series, and schools and universities. The Pops also accompany many other celebrity artists on tour. Orchestra members also play as pit musicians for the Atlanta Broadway Series (including Celtic Woman, Trans Siberian Railroad, and Mannheim Steamroller), for Theatre of The Stars, the Atlanta Ballet, and the Atlanta Opera as well as many independent groups and regional orchestras.

Dermot Kiernan reigns from County Meath, Ireland. He has appeared as a soloist at Dublin’s National Concert Hall and The Royal Dublin Society. In 2009, he was appointed choir leader of the Aontas Choral Ensemble as part of the internationally acclaimed music group, Celtic Woman. For six years, he toured worldwide with the show and is featured on several of their CD and DVD recordings as well as their PBS TV specials. Kiernan is thrilled to be invited back for his second tour of An Irish Heart.
