In the coming weeks see the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center transformed with magical shows, twinkling lights, festive fun, and other holiday delights.
Need a bit of sparkle as the nights draw in ever earlier? Beginning November 26, find it in our beautifully decorated Christmas tree. You may view the towering display in the south lobby while listening to festive seasonal music piped softly throughout the halls this time of year.
Speaking of music, you’ll find there are no silent nights here during this joyful season! Let’s begin with the granddaddy of all holiday traditions, Handel’s Messiah. The Notre Dame Chorale and Festival Baroque Orchestra present Handel’s masterpiece on November 30 and December 1. Chorale has been presenting Messiah at Notre Dame annually since 1992.
The best gifts are ones that warm the heart, and we can’t think of any film more affirming and heartwarming than It’s a Wonderful Life. Bring the family on December 2 to enjoy this classic, and now Browning Cinema tradition, on the big screen. The holidays are also a little bit country thanks to Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors on December 9. Professor Pfinklepfunder endorses both films as family-approved films, and he’s ensured our Sunday family film series is now even better with $1 admission and $1 cinema concessions. Yum!
Now, get ready to deck those halls—December 8 brings us all a treat from the Notre Dame Glee Club and Symphony Orchestra. The two powerhouses unite in their annual benefit presentation Christmas at Notre Dame. Enjoy holiday carols and music for the season from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite to songs from classic seasonal films and all your favorite sing-along carols.
Get your tickets to these fantastic events and more fantastic music plus theater and dance all coming up in the New Year. Tickets and DPAC gift certificates make artful gifts because ultimately, it’s the gift of time with loved ones.
Happy Holidays from your friends at the Center!
