Dial Code Santa Clause (1989)
December 9 - 10, 2022
With Brigitte Fossey, Louis Ducreux, Patrick Floersheim
Not Rated, 92 minutes, DCP
In French with English subtitles.
Previously only available via VHS bootlegs, this holiday horror by many names (e.g., 3615 Code Père Noël, Game Over, and Deadly Games) is quickly becoming a favorite slayride to many outside of France three decades later.
Thomas (Alain Lalanne) is a typical 1980s kid: He loves computers, role-playing games, and his dog. While his mom, the corporate executive of a toy company and very busy with holiday sales, is away at the office on Christmas Eve, Thomas and his grandfather are left home alone; however, a disgruntled mall Santa Claus crashes their silent night. But Hell hath no fury like a mulleted ten-year-old with an arsenal of toys.
Made a year before Home Alone, Dial Code Santa Claus has almost the same plot only filled with more style, a higher body count, and many, many more Rambo references.
