Presenting Series

The mission of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago is to awaken the human spirit through contemporary dance, envisioning a dance landscape that is relevant and accessible to all. Having last performed on the Presenting Series in 2008, their spring program is a triumphant exclamation of that mission.

Experience a remarkable exhibition of artistry as Hubbard Street Dance Chicago connects jazz heritage to the current day. Highlights include ATLAS by Chanel DaSilva, a May 2026 world premiere, which accentuates her signature athletic storytelling. The repertoire also soars with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Associate Artistic Director Matthew Rushing's Beauty Chasers, an exploration of the pursuit to create. At the same time, Bob Fosse's Percussion IV is a delightful example of the Chicago-born Broadway icon's style. It honors the ongoing historic partnership between Hubbard Street and the Verdon Fosse® Legacy. Completing the evening is Aszure Barton's Blue Soup, celebrated for its quirky, collaborative spirit and intricate physicality.

For 49 years, Hubbard Street has been one of the most original forces in contemporary dance, bringing top choreographers and works to Chicago and beyond. Hubbard Street's ever-evolving repertory, created by today's leading choreographic voices, makes it a company that dancers aspire to join and that venues worldwide are eager to present. To date, the main company has performed in 19 countries and 44 of the 50 United States.
