Join the University of Notre Dame Jazz Bands for an evening of outstanding live jazz featuring performances by Jazz Band I, Jazz Band II, and the New Orleans Brass Band. Comprised of talented student musicians from Notre Dame, Saint Mary's College, and Holy Cross College, the ensembles present an exciting program showcasing the diversity and vitality of jazz.
The concert will feature music spanning classic swing, big band favorites, Latin jazz, funk, contemporary works, and innovative new arrangements. Notre Dame's two big bands perform music inspired by legendary ensembles such as those of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Thad Jones and Mel Lewis, and Gordon Goodwin, while the New Orleans Brass Band brings the vibrant sounds of modern brass band traditions to the stage.
Whether you're a lifelong jazz fan or experiencing the music for the first time, you'll enjoy an evening filled with exceptional musicianship, creative improvisation, and the infectious energy of live jazz.
