Irish Theatre of Chicago presents The Weir

April 4 - 6, 2019
The Weir Presenting Series
By Conor McPherson
Directed by Siiri Scott

Folklore and the fates eerily collide when a pub draws four souls together around pints and a peat fire a long, blustery night in a small village. Every joke, round, and ghost story knits together each tale of loneliness and loss into something strong—as only the pub can do. Draw up a chair to share the lesson that living life well requires letting go with one hand and holding on to something or someone else with the other.

Enter·ActionThursday, one hour before curtain in the Penote Performer's Hall, gather with Notre Dame faculty members Brian Ó Conchubhair, Irish Language & Literature, Susan Cannon Harris, English, and Siiri Scott, Film, Television, and Theatre, for fascinating insights into what makes McPherson's deceptively simple play so compelling.

No intermission.

This presentation is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the Indiana Arts Commission and the Crane Group.

Co-sponsored by the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies and Notre Dame Film, Television, and Theatre. Made possible by the Thomas M. Hagerty Family Performing Arts Endowment for Excellence.
