New at the Browning
Directed by Jennifer Reeder
Not Rated, 90 minutes, DCP
Director Jennifer Reeder scheduled to appear live!
While now directing feature films, filmmaker/scholar/professor Jennifer Reeder not only cut her teeth but leaned into the short film form. Reeder will be joining us to watch her earlier shorts and discuss how they continue to influence her filmmaking. Recently named by Bong Joon Ho as a filmmaker to watch, Reeder constructs personal fiction films about relationships, trauma, and coping. Her award-winning narratives are innovative and borrow from a range of forms including after school specials, amateur music videos and magical realism. These films have shown consistently around the world, including the Sundance Film Festival, The Berlin Film Festival, The Tribeca Film Festival, The Rotterdam Film Festival, The London Film Festival, SXSW, The Venice Biennale, and The Whitney Biennial.
Free for ND, SMC, HC, and IUSB Students.
Sponsored by the Meg and John P. Brogan Endowment for Classic Cinema, Notre Dame Department of German and Russian Languages and Literatures.
