The bassist, bandleader, composer, and nine-time Grammy winner is one of jazz's true greats—McBride is S-tier! Ursa Major is McBride's latest project. He assembles a rotating band of electrifying rising stars, a kind of jazz Avengers handpicked for their talent, chemistry, and fearless energy. Together, they tear through a universe of sounds: hard-swinging jazz, funk rhythms, intimate ballads, and bold improvisation. And they won't stop until the music moves you from heart to head to feet for a full-on jazz experience.

He's also leading the 2026 Collegiate Jazz Festival clinician panel, so his influence while in town extends beyond the stage to mentoring the next generation of jazz artists, shaping the genre's future.
