Delve into the world of Vincent Dubois, and learn more about his love for music, below.
What do you look forward to the most when performing for audiences?
My wish is always to create a spiritual atmosphere and share “my interior world” with the people.
For how many years have you been performing?
I played my first recital when I was 15 years old, so for almost 30 years.
How did your love for music start?
When my mother made me listen to the Second Piano Concerto of Rachmaninoff, I was five. And about organ, when I came in the first time (I was eight) in the cathedral of St-Brieuc, my hometown, and listened the wonderful Cavaillé-Coll organ.
Do you have a favorite or memorable performance thus far?
I have to say, every time I had the opportunity to accompany the Duruflé’s Requiem was for me a memorable performance in terms of emotions. This piece is probably one of the most inspired and depth of all literature.
What artists/composers inspire you?
There are times in your life when tastes change, but I have to say that I have always loved above every composer Bach, Ravel, Chopin and Fauré. I am also a big fan of jazz and love in particular, the pianist, Michel Petrucciani.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Electric model trains, when I have time to do it!
We hope you enjoy Vincent Dubois’ performance this March! When you attend, you’ll discover not only an artist of exceptional talent, but a custodian of a rich musical heritage.
