Learning Beyond the Classics
Directed by Jonathan Glazer
With Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy McWilliams, Lynsey Taylor Mackay
Rated R, 108 minutes, DCP
Director Jonathan Glazer recently won two Oscars with his Auschwitz-adjacent The Zone of Interest. Prior to that, his critically acclaimed pictures often contained an appreciated whatzit quality, perhaps most salient in Under the Skin that landed on multiple best-of-the-decade lists for the 2010s. An otherworldly woman (Scarlett Johansson) takes her van around Scotland and seduces men. Once in her van, the men quickly realize they may have been trapped and their prospects of ever leaving that van are looking rough.
Free for ND, SMC, HC, and IUSB Students.
